Best Photo for Tiny Desk AI: Upload Checklist
The upload gives Tiny Desk AI the lead singer’s appearance. A useful photo makes the person and their outfit easy to see, without competing faces or effects. This checklist helps you choose an input; it cannot guarantee a particular generated result.

Start with one consenting adult
Use a photo of yourself or an adult who has agreed to appear in an AI video. Make sure you can use the photo itself as well. Consent to being photographed does not necessarily mean someone has agreed to a generated performance or a public post.
Choose an image with one obvious subject. A group photo creates uncertainty about who should become the lead singer. This generator takes one identity for the lead; it does not let you upload individual photos for the keyboard player, backing singers and saxophonist.
Show the face and enough of the outfit
A waist-up or full-body photo gives the model both facial information and clothing context. Prefer a subject who fills a meaningful part of the frame over someone standing far away in a landscape. A tiny face contains less usable detail even when the overall file is large.
Avoid cutting through the top of the head or hiding much of the face. Check that hair, facial hair and distinctive clothing are visible. The scene will change the pose and surroundings, so the source does not need to show a microphone, keyboard or office.
Check light, sharpness and obstructions
Open the photo at a comfortable size and look at the eyes, nose and mouth. If those features are already blurred, a larger export of the same photo will not restore the missing information. Choose a sharper original when one is available.
Prefer even light over a face hidden in shadow or washed out by a bright flash. Sunglasses, masks, hair covering the eyes and a hand across the mouth conceal identity cues. Strong filters can also change the features you expect the output to retain.
- One visible face with no overlapping people.
- Clear hair and outfit rather than a heavily cropped face.
- No motion blur, strong face effects or large foreground obstructions.
Prepare a supported file
The creator accepts JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 10 MB. If your phone supplies a different format, export a supported copy using your photo app or editor. Changing only the filename extension does not convert the image.
If the file is too large, make a smaller copy while keeping the face readable. Avoid repeatedly saving and compressing an already blurry image. After uploading, inspect the preview to confirm you selected the intended photo before you purchase a pack or begin a render.
Choose what matters, then inspect the output
Your photo guides the lead singer’s face, hair, facial hair and clothing across the scene. It does not lock every detail. Supporting performers are generated separately, and the finished video may contain hand, tooth or mouth artifacts. The sample is a useful reference for these limits.
If you want to compare two input photos, treat those as separate paid attempts rather than a guaranteed improvement process. Review each completed clip before deciding whether another render is useful. Save a local copy of any result you want to keep, and obtain agreement before sharing someone else’s likeness publicly.
