How to Add Music to a Tiny Desk AI Video

A Tiny Desk AI download is a silent MP4. The Disco Duke viewing preview has reference audio added separately, so hearing music in the example does not mean a song comes with a purchased video. You choose and add the soundtrack after downloading.

Save and check your silent MP4

When generation finishes, download the result and open the saved file before starting an edit. Confirm that the picture plays for the full clip. The current output is 14 seconds, vertical 9:16 and Fast 480p. There is no included music track to unmute.

Keep this original file alongside your edited version. That gives you a clean starting point if you later choose a different soundtrack or need another export. Downloading a copy is also safer than relying on a studio result page as permanent personal storage.

Option A: add music in your social app

Start a video post in your preferred social app and import the downloaded clip. Use that app’s current music or sound controls to choose a track available to your account. Button names and available tracks vary, so follow the controls shown in your installed version.

Availability can depend on the platform, account type, region and intended use. In particular, a track offered for one kind of personal post may not be available for a business account or advertising. If the track you wanted is absent, choose an available alternative rather than treating the site preview as a downloadable music licence.

Option B: combine video and audio in an editor

Create a vertical project in a video editor, import your MP4 and place an audio track you can use beneath it. Keep the video’s proportions when fitting it into the project. Stretching it to fill a different shape will distort faces and instruments.

Trim the audio selection to the clip and adjust its starting position while watching the performance. Export a new file with both the video and audio tracks enabled. A larger export resolution can fit a publishing workflow, but it does not add detail that was absent from the 480p source.

Match the mood without expecting exact lip sync

Play through the wide office shot, singing close-up and saxophone ending with your selected track. Try a different starting point if a strong musical moment lands awkwardly on a cut. Check the ending too, so the track does not stop unexpectedly halfway through a phrase.

The generated singing is expressive acting. Moving the soundtrack can improve the overall feel, but it cannot make every mouth movement match every lyric. Tiny Desk AI does not promise exact lip sync, recreate an artist’s voice or supply a licensed recording.

Preview the actual post before publishing

Listen to the version in the destination app before posting. Check that the intended audio is audible, the complete video is present and important faces remain in frame. Captions, stickers and interface overlays can cover the singer even when the original MP4 looks fine.

Keep a copy of your edit and use an accurate description of the clip as an AI-generated performance. Music availability in an app does not establish permission for every reuse outside that app. This is an independent AI studio, with no affiliation to NPR, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson or any recording artist.
